All of the works on the ‘Reproductions’ page are reproductions of paintings by Gil Elvgren or Alberto Vargas. I did these paintings in order to practise their technique and because I love their style (I also like the fact that his pin up girls are not a size zero). In the beginning, my attempts to reproduce the work were passable, but 8 or so paintings down the line, I’d definitely improved. The last piece I did, entitled ‘Splendid View’, is pretty close to the original. Gil Elvgren had a particular way of doing faces that was surprisingly difficult to recreate well.

These works are not for sale and remain in my private collection or have been given to friends as gifts.
